Further Conditions

Due to legal provisions for an application to be considered, all the listed documents and the complete and correctly filled out Application Form in both print and online version must be included.


The Competition Director retains the right to refuse an application without giving explanations.


The International Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition is prepared to make overnight arrangements for the participants. The costs for travel to and from Bamberg will be reimbursed to a maximum of € 1,000. A per diem of € 50 will be paid to each participant during the competition for as long as they are competing.


The participants commit themselves to all the rehearsals and concerts that comprise all parts of the Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition they will be admitted to.


The decisions of the Jury are incontestable. The Jury withholds the right not to give out or share out prizes. The Competition Director makes no guarantee that all the rounds will take place before all members of the Jury. In addition
the Jury has the right to interrupt during performance or to listen only to segments.


Parts of the competition will be open to the public.


The International Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition retains the right to authorise radio and television recordings and broadcasts of the competition process in part or in whole. The participants cede their rights. No fee will
be paid.


The prize winners are obliged to incorporate reference to the International Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition alongside every performance and engagement for a period of 10 years following the competition.


By submitting a signed application, the applicant confirms his understanding of these conditions and the regulating obligations. In the case of doubts relating to text interpretation, the German version is the sole definitive version.
The judges’ decision is final.
