Conducting Competition
Following the first rounds of the Gustav Mahler International
Conducting Competition, the jury has now announced who will participate
in the semi-finals, Wednesday, 3 March and Thursday, 4 March 2010:
Both the semi-finals and the finals will be open to the public, recorded and filmed. An image of the candidate will be projected onto a screen at the side of the stage so that they can be seen from the front and the back of the concert hall.
The candidate's comments during the open rehearsals will be transmitted via microphone and speakers which will enable the audience to follow what is being said.
In the semi-finals, every candidate will rehearse movements No. 1 and 4 of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 the soloist Christina Landshamer and movement No. 3 from Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 104.
