FAQ - Concerts and Tickets

Where do the concerts take place?

If not indicated otherwise, concerts of the Bamberg Symphony take place in the Joseph-Keilberth-Saal at the “Sinfonie an der Regnitz“. Venue for all chamber concerts is the “Spiegelsaal“ at the “Harmonie am Schillerplatz“.

When does admission to the concerts start?

The concert hall opens one hour before the concert. Admission into the hall itself starts half an hour before the concert begins. 

Is there a late admittance to concerts?

In the interest of an uninterrupted performance late admittance is only possible after the end of a complete work or during the break. In case of performances with only one work late admittance is not possible.

When does the box office open?

Box offices at the concert hall and the “Harmonie am Schillerplatz will open one hour prior to the concert.

Is there a waiting list for sold out concerts?

We regret that it is not possible to put your name on a waiting list for sold out concerts. However there is a chance to purchase remaining tickets at the box office on the day of the concert.

Where can I purchase tickets?

You can purchase single tickets via the bvd ticket service. In addition the box office opens one hour before the concert when it starts to sell remaining tickets.

Are there reductions for concert tickets?

We offer the following reductions for concerts of the Bamberg Symphony:

 

1. Subscription

Reduced tickets are available for:

  • Pupils
  • Trainees
  • Military and Alternative Service members
  • Students
  • People with a disability (over 60%)
  • Low income earners (you will be asked for proof in the form of a "GEZ-Befreiung" or an equivalent document).

 

Please show a valid identification when purchasing tickets and at the entrance of the concert hall.

 

 

2. Box Office

At the box office we offer tickets from 7.50 € for all subscription concerts of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra for

  • Children and teenagers under 18
  • Pupils
  • Military and Alternative Service members
  • Students.

 

This offer is only valid while remaining tickets are still available and does not apply to New Year's Concerts.

Can I exchange tickets?

Unfortunately single tickets can not be exchanged after purchase.

Where can I purchase programs?

Programs are sold prior to all concerts at the concert hall and for chamber concerts at the “Harmonie am Schillerplatz“. 

Is it possible to order old programs?

In some cases it is possible to order old programs of past concerts. To find out if your program is still available please write to intendanz(at)bamberger-symphoniker.de.

Does the Bamberg Symphony organize introductions prior to the concerts?

The Bamberg Symphony occasionally offers introductions to selected concerts. These are always indicated in the programs and usually commence 45 minutes before the concert itself starts.

Can I take photos, film or record audio tapes during the concerts?

Taking pictures as well as recordings of any kind are strictly prohibited during          the concerts.

What are the costs for the cloak room?

The fee for the cloak room is 1 EUR.
