Scott Robert Seaton, born in 1982 in Colorado Springs (Colorado), received his musical training at the New England Conservatory in Boston and the Université de Montréal.
In 2008 his conducting studies took him to Leonard Slatkin at the National Conducting Institute in Washington D.C. and, in the same year, to the Winnipeg Conducting Symposium under Alexander Mickelthwate. He has also attended courses in North America and Europe under such podium personalities as Kurt Masur, Peter Eötvös and Marin Alsop.
Scott Robert Seaton has gained experience of conducting with a multitude of ensembles und orchestras, such as the Bohuslav Martinů Filharmonie, the Luxemburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mimesis Ensemble of New York, as Assistant Conductor of the Orchestre de l’Université de Montréal or as assistant to his teacher Michael Morgan at orchestras in the USA und South America. Since 2008 he has been Assistant Conductor at the Walnut Creek Festival Opera in California, and has been appointed Music Director of Ohio’s Kent State University Orchestra.
